Wealthy people can buy doctors and other professionals to gain access to their drug of choice. Unlike the rest of the population, wealthy people feel that the rules don't apply to them. The manslaughter indictment in the Jackson case is a story of doctor who was offered enough money to solve his problems. And there is an attraction to celebrity by some people. I see no difference between legal and illegal drugs causing death, from the ethical point of view. "Overdose " is the act of the addicted person. Mr. Jackson was a 50 year old male and was not a victim as I would define the elements of victim. |
